Principal, Sellers Treybal Structural Engineers PC
John Treybal has more than 20 years of structural engineering and project management experience. A native Vermonter, John received his BS in Civil Engineering from The University of Vermont and since that time has worked in the state on a broad range of projects. John’s responsibilities include all aspects of management, engineering design, and production. He takes a flexible, innovative approach, tailored to meet the needs of the client and project, but based on engineering fundamentals.
The day after graduation from UVM, John began a 14-year career at Engineering Ventures, the largest structural engineering firm in Vermont. His experience there was broad and progressive, including residences, schools, universities, athletic facilities, industrial buildings, and churches. He was responsible for several prominent projects including the King Arthur Flour Camelot Expansion & Renovation in Norwich, the Stowe Ice Arena, Renovations at the University of Vermont Living & Learning Center, and the Waterbury State Office Complex Central Plant.
Greg and John started STS Engineers in 2014 to focus on delivering a high level of expertise while maintaining sustained client relationships that a small office can most readily provide. The design of innovative and sustainable timber structures has been a central interest throughout John’s career and has expanded since starting the firm. He has extensive experience ranging from traditionally joined timber frames to modern steel connected glulam construction to passive structural insulated panel buildings.
